Hong Kong Sprint Odds
The Hong Kong Sprint is part of the Hong Kong International Races day which has now become one of the biggest days of racing in not only Hong Kong but also the world as Sha Tin hosts four Group1 Races one after the other. The race is also the final leg in the lucrative Global Sprint Challenge which sees races take place in several different countries with some of the finest sprinters around involved.
The Global Sprint Challenge consists of eight races in four countries with a points system being employed for the horses. the Champion sprinter at the end of the season must build 42 points or more and compete in races in three of the different countries to qualify for the prize money and trophy. This means that the Hong Kong Sprint could be vital as it is the the last race off the challenge and could well decide the fate of the entire series.
Sacred Kingdom, the winner of the race in 2007, is back again in 2009 and is the favourite to triumph once again according to the latest betting. Also well backed is Scenic Blast who won the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, his form has been up and down since then but may offer good value.
