Hong Kong Cup Odds
The Hong Kong Cup is a Group 1 Race that takes place on the Hong Kong International Races day which means it is now one of the biggest races on the Hong Kong calendar. It takes place in mid December over 2000 metres and is open to any horse aged three years and over who can meet the standard.
The race is open to horses from any country and it gained Group 1 status in 1999 when the race distance was increased to the present 2000 metres. The race has a big prize purse of around $2.5million which means it will always attract some of the best horses from around the world.
The betting is led by Collection who is trained by John Moore and was the 2009 Hong Kong Derby winner, leading the European charge are the Luca Cumani trained Presvis and Vision DET'at who was a winner at Royal Ascot.

The Hong Kong Cup has seen some top winners in recent years with the combination of Saeed Bin Suroor and Frankie Dettori claiming victory twice since the turn of the century. Frankie has also won the race on board Luca Cumani's Falbrav in 2003 which means everyone's favourite jockey is always worth watching in this one.
