Champions Mile - 25th April 2010
The Champions Mile is one leg of the lucrative Asian Mile Challenge which consists of four races around Asia for the best mile horses in the world. The Hong Kong Champions Mile of course takes place at the brilliant Sha Tin Racecourse and it can prove to be a big betting event for punters around the world who follow the series closely.
There are races in Australia, Dubai and Japan as well as in Hong Kong that form the Asian Mile Challenge and any horse that wins two or more of these races can win huge bonuses for its trainer and owner. Another Incentive for Champions Mile winners is the fact that they automatically qualify for the Breeders Cup Mile at the end of the year as it is part of the Breeders Cup Challenge series of races.
The 2008 winner Good Ba Ba who is somewhat of a Hong Kong legend is back once again this year and he will go off well backed on Sunday. One interesting runner in the race is Imbongi who goes for Mike De Kock after he had a souple of good runs over in Dubai earlier this year.
